Excavator bucket tooth/teeth wear analysis
Excavators used in the mining industry have bucket teeth usually made up of hard alloys. In order to improve the anti-wear properties of these alloys coatings are provided. The purpose of the present work is to make the deformation analysis of the bucket teeth.
It was observed that maximum stress occurred at the fixed joint of teeth and tongue, while the maximum wear takes place at the tip of the tooth. The abrasive nature of the soil is one of the reasons for tip wear.
